I am a senior in high school, and I recently got the opportunity to travel to Italy with my grandmother on the Tauck Bridges “Italia Bella” 7-day tour. Tauck created an unforgettable 7-day experience to see the wonderful sights of Rome, Florence and Venice.
Everything was done with the utmost class. The food we ate was delicious and the meals ranged from buffet lunches to the sit-down, which was a nice variety. The hotels we stayed in were all beautiful. They all had their own charm and history, and were completely up to date with modern necessities.
Every day we had a local tour guide show us around the cities, and these tour guides knew so much about every aspect of their city and were able to keep everyone on the tour entertained with their humor.
My favorite aspect of the tour was the fact that there was a nice range of kids on the tour. We were 16 kids in total, ranging from 8-18; it was especially nice to meet people my age. We were able to hang out at night. In our free time during the day we even split off from the parents, which was a nice break for everyone,
You were given total freedom to choose what to do or see in free time, and were given flexibility inside the schedule to accommodate and see the sights most important to you. You did not feel like you were stuck with just your family the whole time because there were other families to interact with. Everyone got along so well, that at the end of the week, emails and phone numbers were exchanged among all the families.
Another aspect that made it such a memorable trip was the wonderful tour director who was the best resource we could have had. Her love for Italian culture as well as her knowledge of each city was a great resource as she provided recommendations for places to eat in any city, according to our families’ taste and preferences.
Tauck made it so accommodating for each family during the trip by handling every small detail from the transportation to and from the airport, to making sure each family had plenty of activities to fill their free time with, leaving each person with no worries.
I would 100% recommend this tour and Tour Company to families who love to explore and learn about culture. But I suggest that the children be at least middle school age in order to really appreciate the sights.
